Daveyton artist wants to inspire his peers

In 2016, the youngster received two awards from the Daveyton Hip-Hop Awards; he was named the best hip-hop icon and best performer.

Daveyton artist Shaun Talane, better known as Shaun ICT, has his heart set on the art of amapiano and Afro-pop.

The 27-year-old is set to release his new single, Ngeke’Svume’Ukyolala (we won’t agree to sleep), on September 1.

He is also working on his album, Imilingo Yothando (the magic of love), which will be released later in the year.

The album will be released under Afriano Records, where Shaun ICT is the manager and Jabulani Skhosana the director.

Last year, Shaun ICT recorded his amapiano EP titled Trust Issues, where he invented his genre-mixing amapiano and Afro-pop, hence the name Afriano.

He said the sound on the album is beautiful and unique and will show a different side of my musical journey and it is special because it is produced by my childhood friend, Sipho Nicholas.

“The song was inspired by how people behave in this pandemic, especially those who enjoy being out with friends,” said Shaun.
