Daveyton artist wants his music to be recognised globally

He has performed in numerous events in Gauteng and is ready to nationalise his work and brand, so he can showcase his talent to the country.

Mzwakhe Heaven Oldjohn, better known as Heaven Ohjay, recently released his extended play (EP) titled No Sleep.

The seven-track R&B EP was launched on June 5 in Daveyton. Heaven Ohjay is a vocalist, rapper, model, and songwriter.

The 26-year-old fell in love with music in 2005 and then started writing and recording his music.

“I love making music people can relate to, songs that have a message about what people are experiencing at that moment,” said Heaven Ohjay.

“Through my music journey, I realised blending my talents and skills together would bring the South African music industry a new definition of what it means to be an artist.”

The Daveyton resident explained he has a strong media background which enables him to be a force to be reckoned with, both in-studio and on stage.

He has performed in numerous events in Gauteng and is ready to nationalize his work and brand, so he can showcase his talent to the country.

In 2016, he studied business management at Ekurhuleni East College.

He also founded a clothing brand called Insecure and is an assistant manager for a local production company.

He has shared the stage with the likes of Nasty C, Stilo Magolide, Cici, Donald, Teekay the Fist, Chomee and the Teddy bears.

Some of his favourite artists are Chris Brown, Drake, Cassper Nyovest, A-Reece, Nasty C, and himself.
