Daveyton artist aims to share his journey

The former Eastern Cape resident said he has singles called Destiny and Sondela and will soon be releasing a new single in April.

Daveyton resident Zuko Patrick Magoloza (fondly known as Zukot3s) is an artist, poet and actor, and he cannot wait to share his talent with his fans.

“I went solo because I wanted to do me, to sing the music that represents who I am and not to be limited in certain levels of productivity,” said Magoloza (38).

“Afro-soul and gospel are my inspiration from a young age. I am able to express my feelings and reach hearts in different places. The diversity of the genre is soul reviving.”

The former Eastern Cape resident said he will soon be releasing a new single in April, to accompany his other singles Destiny and Sondela.

“[I will also have] a full album in August,” he said.

“It is called It’s a Journey because I saw in life you grow day in and day out, it’s not a destination.”

The album consists of 14 songs.

“I [draw] inspiration from a lot of things – day-to-day experiences. Part of my inspiration is just the desire to make something special and standout, and being inspired by special music I’ve heard before from the likes of Ringo Madlingos, Nathi, Federico Fernandez, Sjava, Ntando and more.”

According to Zukot3s, persistence and faith are the keys to success.

“Hard work and a business-orientated mind helps you along this journey. You’ll fall but make sure you get up, clean yourself of and fight on,” he said.

In light of Covid-19, the artist has also released a single called Akekho Ofana Naye.

“[The song] provides hope to those who are hopeless and to strengthen those who feel weak.”
