Daveyton company brings new show to life

The reality show aims to reconcile loved ones and mend broken relationships by allowing the two parties to rectify their wrong-doings and start over, while their journey of reconciliation gets documented.

If you have ever left home, a marriage, or anything that you need help to reconcile with, then new reality show, Ngicel’ ukubuya, is here to assist.

Produced by The Richard’s Productions, based in Daveyton, the reality show aims to reconcile loved ones and broken relationships by allowing the two parties to rectify their wrong-doings and start over, while their journey of reconciliation gets documented.

“We are capable to intermediate between the two parties and bring them together,” said co-executive producer, Sabelo Sekgoto.

This will be the show’s first production, and there is no better place to start than Benoni.

“We are shooting at Benoni Plaza and Daveyton Etwatwa,” he explained.

“Sibusiso Huma is a young man who wrote to us. He wants to return home and reconcile with his uncle after leaving home two years ago.

“His cousin was shot to death during a house break-in. He then ran away and landed up on the streets of Benoni.”

The shooting of the show started in August and should be completed by October.

Once the show first story is completed, co-executive producers, Pauline Phogole, Mamane Mlangeni and Sekgoto will set out pitching the idea of the show to television channels.

“Richard Sekgoto is the founder of The Richard’s Productions, which came to life to create jobs for the community to alleviate poverty by producing theatre and television shows,” Sekgoto explained.

“It also helps the community with social and labour issues through reality shows.”

While Sekgoto says this is not the company’s first production, it is their first television show.
