“The awards were hosted there by the Josie Network with 23 000 entries from all corners of the globe.

Leite was nominated in the categories World Music Artist of the Year 2019 and Album of the Year.

“Thousands of people flocked to the celebrity theatre to be part of this exclusive red carpet event as it is the largest independent music awards in the world.

“It was extremely exciting to meet the likes of Joanne Cash (the late Johnny Cash’s sister), television celebrities like Lizard Lick Towers, and many more.

“I was in total shock when they announced me as the World Music Artist of the Year 2019 and handed over a stunning award with my name inscribed on it.”

The winning did not stop there for the artist who then attended the Texas Sounds International Music Awards in Jefferson Texas.

“I won Best Female Vocalist in 2017 against 17 countries from around the world,” she said.

“I was nominated again in 2018 but could not go, so was over the moon to be nominated again last year in May.”

HunTer attended this event where global artists and groups perform for independent judges and local audiences.

“You have to do a high-quality performance to make the grade of international quality.

“I performed eight songs, most power-house country ballads and won Best Female Vocalist 2019.

“It was a huge honour to reclaim my title,” an ecstatic HunTer said.

“America’s standard of entertainment is very high, so it was a performance that I put 200 per cent of myself into, believing I have the star factor they are looking for.

“I performed live on stage with my guitar and was interviewed about my nominations as well as what Texas Sounds is about.

“I am very proud to say millions of people in America got to hear about my beautiful country and my hometown of Benoni.”
