Young and Upcoming with Kid Tini

In our interview, we talked about music, fame, being nominated as one of the best lyricists in the South African Hip Hop awards, and his new release titled #SoundMind.

The creative journey is never easy for most artists and it was no different for Eastern Cape born rapper Kid Tini. He recently told us about his journey from making music with friends and brothers, to being signed to one of the biggest independent record labels in South Africa, Ambitiouz Entertainment.
Kid Tini, whose real name is Phiwe Unam Tini, released his first mix tape, titled Coming of Age, at the age of 18 and it caught the ears of the right people. In our interview, we talked about music, fame, being nominated as one of the best lyricists in the South African Hip Hop awards, and his new release titled #SoundMind.

The young artist, who now resides in Pretoria, said that the rap industry does not speak about issues such as depression, abortion and other issues that are affecting people, and this was the aim when he released the single Cinga.
“I don’t want to change the world, I just want to change the way that rappers are viewed. All of us are looked at as those guys who like to brag” said Phiwe.
Cinga has now reached over a million views on YouTube.
