Mini exhibition, big exposure

As part of its Artist Acceleration and Exposure programme (A3E), Mini South Africa and digital publishers 10and5 hosts the inaugural exhibition.

The exhibition which took place at Mini Auto Bavaria in Midrand on Thursday, 22 August 2019 is the first of many exhibitions that will be taking place in coming weeks at selected dealerships across the country. Creating a platform to enter the art and gallery scene, 69 talented artists we selected for the 2019 2019 A3E programme by 10and5 founder and publisher Uno de Waal, and curators Banele Khoza, Makgati Molebatsi and Lezanne Viviers.

The first event saw work from seven of the 23 artists selected to exhibit, displayed to art enthusiasts, gallery curators and art buyers. Ayla Senekal, Blessing Blaai, Bongani Ndlovu, Lebogang Mabone, Lisolomzi Pikoli, Mpho Machete and Odirile Khune proudly showcased their work as part of the A3E programme.

“Iconic design is part of the Mini DNA, Mini has always been much more than just a car brand – it’s a community and a lifestyle. Since 1959, the global Mini brand has partnered with creatives to explore new and different ideas. The A3E programme allows us to embrace a range of young South African artists in the creation of their own visual identities, just as Mini has been doing for 60 years.” Thilosh Moodally, Head of Mini South Africa.

Exhibitions can be viewed at Mini Auto Bavaria in Midrand and Mini Sandton and Mini Auto Atlantic in Cape Town
