Mr and Miss Benoni to support charities again

The City Times is the proud media sponsor of Mr & Miss Benoni 2019

WhatsApp is not just a platform utilised for social communication, it can also be used for a group of people to discuss how to better the community.

This is the purpose of the application for the Knights Charity that is like-minded families who live in and around Benoni.

The charity was chosen again by Rampage Modelling Agency to be the beneficiary of this year’s Mr and Miss Benoni pageant.

“For many years Miss Benoni contestants have always been ready to pitch in and help with all our projects big and small,” the charity said.

“Various Knights members have been supporting the less fortunate for about 16 years.

“Our motto is – together we can make a difference.”

The modeling agency supports this charity as they are indirectly supporting several charities through them.

“They also do a lot of hands-on community service at soup kitchens etc, which we intend for the contestants to get involved in,” said Claudine Stewart, director from Rampage.

“In conjunction with Knights we are also organising a day out either at movies or maybe even Wild Waters for the children homes in Benoni.

“We are also going to plan a day at Haven Care Centre where we will ask the contestants to each bring a pack of veggie seeds and we will start a veggie garden for them.

“We have also found it extremely hard to bring in actual money during our fund-raisers, so we also ask for clothes, food stuffs, stationery, old household items, etc.

“Knights know as to which homes in Benoni require such items and will help us distribute accordingly.”

Entries for the pageant closes on August 12 so hurry to Rampage at 10 Miles Sharp Street, Rynfield, or the Benoni City Times, in Northmead Square, or go to benonicitytimes.co.za to get an entry form.
