530 kW Mustang Roush to SA market

Roush Performance is now available under the bonnet of the 2019 Ford Mustang.

The latest changes Roush has been making to the 2019 Ford Mustang now includes aftermarket body parts made from OE-quality materials and seamlessly fits on the latest iteration of the Mustang derivative. On the front of the vehicle, a more aggressive front bumper and splitter have been fitted in addition to the new grille which now features a Roush “R” logo offset to the right and sees the removal of the Mustang moniker. The bonnet vents which sits on either side of the matt-black centred line which spans the entire vehicle has received dark accents to match.

The rear of the vehicle sees small modifications made to the diffuser and the addition of a large Roush which finds itself situated just below a small wing fitted to the boot lid. In all four corners, you will find custom black rims which are complemented by the livery found on the front fenders and doors, reminiscent of that which featured on a 1970’s Mustang Boss 308.

“We’re excited to redefine the understanding of performance with the all-new 2019 ROUSH Mustang. A perfect blend of brute force, with 530 kW on the RS3 and a selection of cosmetic enhancements to truly individualise your 2019 Mustang,” Grant Askham, CEO of the Performance centre.

It is under the bonnet, where most changes took place. The 5.0-litre, V8 engine developed by Ford Performance which comes with the 2019 Mustang GT, gets a brand new 2.65-litre Phase 1 Supercharger Kit from Twin Vortices Series which assist in the production of 530 kW and 845 N.m of torque. The Roush RS2650 TVS supercharger now features twin four-lobe rotors that are twisted170-degrees, this in combination with other factors enhances the thermal efficiency while increasing operating speeds and manages to produce a more efficient flow of air into the engine and improved noise and vibration characteristics. Thus the supercharger not only increases performance but also improves fuel economy.

Roush offers three packages on the new Mustang, the RS3 package includes both cosmetic and performance upgrades while an RS2 cosmetic package is also available for the 5.0-litre derivative and an RS1 cosmetic package on the 2.3-litre Mustang. It is also good to know that Roush modified vehicles are fully supported by Ford Motor Company of South Africa and comes with an exclusive Ford Protect drivetrain warranty once the vehicle is built and certified with a Ford Accredited Level 3 Master Technician.  Each of the abovementioned upgrade packages also come with a unique book value code and will be financed by most major banks and insured to its full value.
