YouTube is being used to educate residents.

Benoni managed to house another Benonian who uses YouTube as a platform to make the community’s lives easier, and this channel ranks in the top 40.

Anton contacted the City Times after reading an article about HaylsWorld – another YouTube channel.

“We give assistance to various law enforcement agencies when asked to do so,” the Benoni AH resident said.

“I was inspired to show the people what to look for regarding hijacking and vehicle theft trends.”

Anton said he does not work alone in making the channel a success.

“Frederick Koen is my partner, son, and dog handler with his K9 explosives dog, Kyra,” he said.

“As well as Jacques Swart, Hannes van den Berg of the SA Police and Benoni CPF members.”

Together the team specialises in crime information and crime trends regarding vehicle and serious crime.

And they achieved greatness with one of their best videos called NoJack take down Armed carjackers and robbers.

“It has 4.6 million views and growing – they did not know that this is how their day will end,” he said.

“These videos are approximately five minutes long and we post them when info is available or incidents happen.”

Going forward, the teams intends to continue informing the people of the trends of crime and to reach more people and keep them safe by making them aware of their surroundings.
