December 20 to 24

Northmead Square December festivities, school holiday activities for the kids, face painting and photo opportunities with Santa, corner of 14th Avenue and O’Reilly Merry Street, Northmead, 11am until 2pm (Sharné Bodenstein 011 425 5541).

December 20 to January 6

Northmead Square Toy Drive, donate old or new toys and stationery to be given to the children at the Tambo Memorial Hospital, donation box is situated at the centre (Sharné Bodenstein 011 425 5541).

December 22

Pop-Up Art Exhibit, local artist to showcase their work, free entrance, 36 and 38 Russel Street, Western Extension, 11am until 4pm (Stephanie Geral 084 671 7084).

December 24

Northfield Methodist Church crib service, children can dress up as a nativity character or manger animal, Father Christmas will give out sweets, photo-booth, corner Aerodrome Drive and Webb Street, Airfield, 6pm (Jackie Leschinsky 010 140 0210).

January 26

Benoni Lions Club monthly jumble sale, donations of adult and children clothes, kitchenware, linen, toys, jewellery and books welcome, Lions Community Centre, 111 Howard Avenue, Western Extension, 9am (Gillian Jones 082 342 7053).

January 26 and 27

The Beautiful Gardens of Benoni, hosted by Rotary Anns of the Rotary Club of Benoni van Ryn, six gardens on display, entry fee charged, seven gardens on display, Bob and Cecile Heynes, 215 Elston Avenue, Western Extension, Darryl Botes, 86 Wooton Avenue, Western Extension, Annie van Wyk, 17 Elliot Street, Rynfield, tea garden: Keith and Michelle Rance, 7 Dobson Street, Rynfield, Bev Marnewick, 47 Sarel Cilliers Street, Rynfield, Laantie Le Roux, 48 Milburn Street, Rynfield, Lyndon and Lucy, 4 Eva Road, Fairleads Agricultural Holdings, 10am until 4.30pm (Judy Bath 011 849 5369).

GENERAL

December 20 to January 7

Billions Bubbles Show, Sun Arena, tickets sold for R120 to R240 per person depending on the seating section selected, parking available at R20 per car, children under three enter for free, Time Square, showtimes: 10.30am, 2pm and 7pm.

December 23

Three-koppies group hike of up to 8km or three hours, entry fee charged, children must be over six years old, no dogs allowed, funds raised go towards maintaining the Koppies, Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia, 8.30am (the office 011 482 4797 or www.mk.org.za).
