Mrs Grand SA first princess, Nasneen Ismail

An impulsive decision bagged her the first princess title.

Actonville resident and Feminine Magic Sanitary Pad founder Naazneen Ismail took the title of the first princess at the Mrs Grand SA pageant on August 3 at Melrose Arch.

“I hope that this title inspires other women to live life to their fullest and achieve their dreams and goals despite all obstacles,” she said.

“I will still be very much involved in community service, except this time with a crown on my head.”

Ismail founded the Feminine Magic Sanitary Pad Drive in February this year with the help of her friend, Kalpita Mistry.

“Condoms are so freely available and sex is a choice, but menstruation is part of Gods wisdom in His creation of women,” she said in a previous article in the City Times.

“I have already distributed to Etwatwa High School, the Salvation Army, Uitkoms Home for Girls and Saberas Children’s Home.

“I’m busy with some homework and waiting for feedback from a few other places.”

According to the princess, Princess Diana wished to be the queen of hearts, but earned the title of The People’s Princess.

“That in itself is resonant to being first princess. It’s an astounding achievement and my community members are really proud of me, by God’s Grace,” she said.

However, even princesses sometimes need help.

To assist in the sanitary pad drive, Ismail can be contacted on 072 786 4399.
