Rynfield – peaceful and tree-filled suburbia

With a number of property options and prices on offer in the leafy suburb of Rynfield, it’s an area worth investigating if you’re looking at property for sale in Benoni. With access to both highways and the Gautrain, it’s an oasis from the city without being too far away from it.

Too many people are quick to tar the whole of the East Rand with a single ‘Hicksville’ brush, but with suburbs like Rynfield in Benoni, it couldn’t be further from the truth. The suburb, which is best known for the Bunny Park, is a mixture of both established suburb and agricultural holdings, and is an oasis of wide verges and tree-lined streets.

For those looking for property for sale in Benoni, Rynfield has property options for everyone, with larger houses reaching more than R3 million in price, but also smaller properties of R1 million or less. Property sizes are commonly large, and some reach over an acre in size, providing plenty of space for large families who want both a garden and pets. The area even has a mixture of age groups, with the 18-35 year-old age group making up 36% of the new buyers, and 36-50 and 50-64 year-olds making up the majority of people living in the area.

While it maybe take a little longer to get to the cities of Sandton and Johannesburg, the area is still within close proximity to the shopping and entertainment centres of Northmead Square, Northmead Mall and Lakeside Mall, and to both English and Afrikaans private primary and high schools.

While the CBDs of Sandton and Johannesburg may not be within walking distance, the area does have easy access to major highways to get to these big and central cities and the airport. You can even park your car at Rhodesfield train station, and take the Gautrain to Sandton, Rosebank and Pretoria, cutting out the stress of driving. With the toll roads in place, it may be a better option to take the train and save petrol, than face the traffic.
