Here is some information about the bands performing:

The Narrow

Known for their intense and energetic live shows, The Narrow is going on 16 years strong in the industry.

The band was formed in 2002 and comprises of Hanu de Jong (vocals), Emile de Jong (guitar), Nelius de Lange (drums), Deon Kruger (guitar) and Jow Feldtmann (bass).

After a slew of international stints, the band took a brief hiatus in 2007 but came back on the map in 2008.

They have several SAMA nominations under their belt and they have appeared as regular headliners at major South African rock festivals and venues and opened up for various international acts including The Used, Violent Femmes and Deftones.

WONDERboom

Twenty-two years on and WONDERboom are still rocking South Africa.

It’s no small feat to be hailed as one of SA’s longest-lived and most legendary rock bands, and still going strong.

No-one can deny that their biggest strength is their live performances.

They have released nine albums to date, headlined many major SA festivals and have been nominated for five SAMAs.

Cito, Martin Schofield and Wade Williams, the founding members of WONDERboom, have been writing songs and performing together with the newest drummer, Jonathan Bell, and continue to take on their rock ’n roll journey.

Newtown Knife Gang

Comprised of well-respected SA music veterans, the members of Newtown Knife Gang have managed to exceed the high expectations of fans who were left wanting more when they left their previous respective bands.

They have established themselves in a notoriously ‘tough to crack’ live scene, playing coveted slots at major festivals and top venues across the country.

With tracks that speak to the heart and an effortless live performance, Newtown Knife Gang are a force to be reckoned with.

S.D.O

Drawing influence from pop music and punk rock, S.D.O’s grooving folk jams fill the space between the two extremes and get the crowd bouncing along from the first chord to the last beat of the snare.

They have been described as ‘the Slipknot of Folk’ and even ‘the South Park of Music’ and have managed to rack up some noticeable achievements.
