Fund-raiser for quad accident victim raises R30 000

The 29-year-old suffered severe injuries, including a broken left arm, his left leg grew back crooked and he also had chest and abdominal injuries.

A variety show entitled Second Chances was held on June 22 and 23 at Arbor Primary to help raise funds for accident victim Andrew Claassens’ medical expenses.

The show featured performances by the Paramount Dance Academy and Gill Henning’s School of Ballet.

Donovan Arentsen, director of the show, said the fund-raiser was a success and everyone was thrilled with the outcome.

“On Saturday the show was sold out – we had to get in extra chairs.

“With the raffle, auction and ticket sales we managed to raise about R30 000.”

Arentsen said there will be further fund-raisers for Andrew.
