Voltrex is back with more

Voltrex will return to The Festival @ St Dunstan’s on May 13 with better beats than last year.

The name Voltrex derives from the words ‘voltage’ and ‘tracks’, which the founding members, Aaron Ngwenya and Nkosi Sibanda, combined.

“We are excited to again be part of the line-up for The Festival,” said Ngwenya.

Sibanda said: “To play to different crowds is great and fans can expect a good time.”

The Festival @ St Dunstan’s, in partnership with the Benoni City Times, aims to be a family event catering for different crowds and ages.

“We will engage with the crowd,” Ngwenya said.

“It is important for everyone to feel like they are on the same level; we must never make someone feel inferior to us or another.”

The two have invested in their passion for music since the age of 15, when they played at ice rinks every weekend.

“We love ice skating – apart from music, it is a passion,” Ngwenya said.

For the duo, music is a technique used to unite people.

“Everyone listens to some kind of music,” Sibanda said.

Ngwenya added: “Music helps people relax.”

This year fans can expect a party.

“We are becoming more than a DJ band. We will be having a clothing line and more,” Ngwenya added.

Lastly the duo said their key to success is hard work and persistence.

“We advise upcoming artists to be grounded in their beliefs and be patient,” Ngwenya said.
