Race to see to Mad Mike

Drifting enthusiasts are in for a treat, as motorsport’s Mike “Mad Mike” Whiddett will drift into Carnival City on September 23 and 24, with his *Badbul RX8.

Mad Mike will be exciting local drifting enthusiasts in the SupaDrift Series.

Mad Mike, who hails from New Zealand, has drifted a car up a mountain range.

A crowd of over 10 000 is expected at this event and Mad Mike will not only be the celebrity judge in the competition, but will also perform some chilling drifting demos himself.

The drifting scene in South Africa is an ever-growing one and fanatics will be thrilled to see Mad Mike do the impossible in his 2004 Mazda RX 8, dubbed the “*Badbul”.

This machine, crazy as its driver, is kitted out with the best products on the market, high horse-power and slaying sound, making it something special to see and hear.

Mad Mike has power-slid across a frozen lake in Japan and will now film an episode of his reality series Mad Mike Mad Life in South Africa.

“I’ve heard so much about the South African fans and I can’t wait to get out there,” said Mad Mike.

Michelle Smith, marketing manager of Carnival City, said: “We enjoy playing host to a diversity of performers, not only on our stages but outdoors as well.”

Tickets are available from Computicket.

The Friday show will run from noon to 6pm, and 11am to 6pm on Saturday.

Gates open two hours before the start of the show.

*Madbul was changed to Badbul as Madbul was his RX7 not RX8.
