Get a taste of Germany’s Oktoberfest

Don’t miss out on the local version of Germany’s Oktoberfest, happening on September 17 on plot eight, on the corner of Lionel Street and Springs Road, Putfontein.

Oktoberfest-SA is owned and managed by German couple Benno and Brigitte du Bert, who moved to Fairleads in 2003 and want to bring a taste of Germany to their new home, South Africa.

In conjunction with Rockford Media, the festival has put together a line-up of top-notch German beer, food and music as well as some of SA’s favourite local bands including The Black Cat Bones, Georgetown, Gangsterdam, The Sextons, Strait-Jackal, Flipside Rock Band and The Mitten Fits.

The Eisbeins will be the official German Oompah Band for the day.

Doors will open at 10am and the last band is set to play at 11pm.

This year, Oktoberfest in Germany kicks off on September 17 so the SA Oktoberfest will be hosted on the same day.
