Little Miss Benoni and Miss Teen Benoni crowned
Parents, family members and friends came in numbers to cheer on their favourite contestants, during the search for Benoni’s Little Miss and Miss Teen 2016.
The event was held at Northmead Mall, on August 20.
There were 20 Little Miss Benoni contestants and 35 Miss Teen Benoni contestants.
The winners of Little Miss Benoni 2016 are:
Busisiwe Mcamile (12, second princess), Noluthando Mothai (11, winner) and Mathabo Matlou (10, first princess).
Winners of Miss Teen Benoni 2016 are:
Modiegi Masehla (16, second princess), Christine Tsotetsi (15, winner) and Melissa Botes (17, first princess).
Northmead Mall hosted the pageant in association with Rampage Modelling Agency and entrants rehearsed for two weeks in preparation for the grand finale.
All the contestants were required to donate a blanket for the chosen charity, Lingelethu Home of the Aged and Disabled, which totalled 55 blankets.
Northmead Mall’s Charlé Gerber said they were honoured to host the event and are looking forward to collaborating with Miss Teen Benoni in future events.
Winners will get to be the face of Northmead Mall.
“They will need to participate in charitable events as part of having the title,” said Gerber.
“We also thank all the stores in the mall for all their donations.”
The judges included Claudio de Jesus (Mr Benoni 2015), Catherine Reynders (Miss Benoni 2015), Beauty Mnyakeni, Charné Le Guidice and Erin Moore (Miss Teen Benoni 2015).
