Sibikwa calls all dancers
The Sibikwa Arts Centre is asking all dance groups and dance projects to register for the seventh edition of the annual Sibikwa Dance Xplosion happening on October 8.
The Sibikwa Arts Centre is undergoing renovations, so this year, the Dance Xplosion will take place at the Dance Factory in Newtown from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
The Dance Xplosion provides a platform for all interested groups to showcase their work and compete for the following cash prizes:
•First place: R5 000
•Second place: R3 000
•Third place: R1 500
•R500 prize for the most promising group
Participants will be adjudicated by a professional South African choreographer.
Registrants may contact Sibikwa on 011 422 4359 or email to projects@sibikwa.co.za to receive an application form which needs to be returned by August 26 at the latest.
A registration fee of R200 is required per group and needs to be paid upon registration, and a representative of each group will be required to attend a pre-production meeting prior to the Dance Xplosion.
