The time for the long-awaited Protea Stage Productions next production, entitled “The Musical Adventures of Oliver Twist”, is finally here and the cast members are working hard to put on an unforgettable show.

So do not miss out!

Opening night is June 10 at Tom Newby School and the play will run every Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm, and on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2.30pm, until June 26.

“We have a talented cast and the scene changes and songs are incredible,” said musical director, Camilla Kinman.

The cast met on Sunday (June 5) at the school to rehearse the entire production – twice with sound, lights and a full dress rehearsal.

The production contains 17 songs so it is bound to have your feet tapping and children fascinated with the storyline.

The director of “The Musical Adventures of Oliver Twist.”, Michael Shane Brownhill, encouraged people to support the local production.

“People should attend but it is a heartwarming story for the whole family,” he said.

“It has the much-loved songs that everyone knows and it delves deeper into the regular Oliver Twist story.

“Also, my poor kids have been working their little butts off for four months.”

Ticket prices are R60 for adults and R40 for under 12s and pensioners.
