What you need to know about The Festival

The Festival @ St Dunstan’s on May 7 is fast approaching, and the closer it gets, the more people want to know what is and is not permitted on the day.

Events Promoter, Paul Smith, gave some answer to frequently asked questions by those who are going to, or want to, attend the event.

Q: Will tickets be sold on the day?

A: Based on availability, yes. However it is advised that you purchase before the day as this would negate the need to join two queues on the day. There will be a queue to process general access tickets, another one for Golden Circle and Backstage VIP and a separate booth for ticket sales on the day.

Q: Do I need a parking voucher?

A: It is advised. For R40 you will be able to park your vehicle on the rugby fields at St Dunstan’s College. Please note: There will be no parking in Baines and President Kruger streets.

Q: What ages may attend?

A: The entire family is welcome! There will be something for everyone.

These under six years old, who are accompanied by a parent, may enter the General Access area for free.

Everyone entering the Golden Circle or Backstage VIP areas will need to have purchased a ticket.

Q: Can I bring my own food and drink?

A: No, there will be a wide variety of food stalls on the day and many drink stations, including a beer garden with strict no under 18-year-old access.

Q: What items can I bring in?

A: You may bring blankets.

You cannot bring in the following:

• Chairs, umbrellas or temporary structures (gazebos etc.), cameras or recording devices (cellphones are allowed), firearms, weapons or any item deemed dangerous to others.

• Food or drink.

• Drugs or banned substances. This will be strictly enforced by CMS, EMPD K9 and mounted units who will be present on the day.

Q: At what time does everything start?

A: The ticket booth will be open on the day from 1pm. Gates will open at 2pm and the music will begin at 3pm.
