Where is the compassion?

Wayne Stevens writes by email:

On July 25, while having a meal at the corner restaurant at the Farrarmere Square, my VW Polo was broken into and nearly stolen.

If it were not for Insa Malondi and his security guard crew, in particular Elvis, who had a gun drawn on him, I would have lost my Polo.

My wife went back into the restaurant to settle the bill and felt that they could not get her out of the door quick enough.

We put this down to the fact that they did not want other customers to hear that their cars are in danger while they are eating in the restaurant.

One restaurant staff member briefly came outside to see what was going on, but at no stage were we asked if we were OK or needed help!

It is sad that in today’s society money is the driving force and basic human compassion comes a distant second.

Needless to say, that was our last meal there.
