On Tuesday, July 22, a man who works for me as a painter was stopped in Farrarmere by a man in a white bakkie, accompanied by his wife and child.
He asked Andries if he wanted a painting job and said if so, he would take him to Northmead to show him his house that needed painting, and he could quote him for the job.
Trusting that this was genuine, Andries loaded his bike into the back of the bakkie and jumped in himself.
The man then stopped at a café, gave Andries R20 and asked him to go and buy a cool drink, which he did.
When he came out of the café, bakkie, bike and all were gone.
Shame on this scumbag for robbing a poor man trying his best to earn a living.
Be warned and please warn your workers.
