Police confirm arrest of Krejcir’s accountant

A Bulgarian national man, identified by the SAPS as Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir’s accountant and “right-hand man” was arrested at the Benoni Police Station and taken into custody on Monday, June 9 by a special multi-disciplinary task team.

The team was set up by National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega.

“He faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder, the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition as well as the murder of Phumlani Ncube,” said SAPS spokesperson, Lieut Gen Solomon Makgale.

Ncube was believed to have been involved in criminal activities and worked for Krejcir as a debt collector.

Lieut Gen Makgale said; “I can confirm a 32-year-old man from Bulgaria has been arrested. The man is believed to be the accountant and right hand man of Krejcir”.

“The man was arrested at Benoni SAPS when he reported to the station as part of bail conditions for unrelated fraud charges. “We believe he played a role in each and every criminal charge and allegation against Krejcir.

He will appear, along with Krejcir and others, at a later stage to face charges including kidnapping and attempted murder,” said Makgale.

“The team investigating Krejcir has made progress and we can say with confidence more charges will be brought against Krejcir and his co-accused.

“The team has been working hard on this matter and we believe we have a strong case,” said Makgale.
