Five injured in Pretoria Road accident

Five people were treated for injuries sustained in a collision between a motorbike and taxi on Tuesday, April 22.

The accident took place on the corner of Pretoria Road and Rickard Street, shortly before 7am.

”Paramedics immediately assessed both the motorcycle rider and passenger and found that the rider, a male in his late 40s, had suffered multiple broken bones along with suspected internal injures and was in a serious condition,” said ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt.

”He was stabilised on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital by ER24 for further care.”

The motorcycle passenger suffered a suspected broken leg and was stabilised before being transported to hospital.

Three commuters in the taxi were treated for minor injuries and taken to hospital.

Local authorities were on scene to investigate the incident further.
