Annual Toy Run to be held

On Sunday, November 24, all roads will lead to the John Barrable Hall, for the annual Gauteng Motorcycle Toy Run.

For 31 years the biking fraternity has been gathering toys to donate to less fortunate children around the country.

This year things will be no different: the entrance fee is still a donation of toys for less privileged children.

Gift shops at the entrances will sell Toyrun recommended gifts, if you forget your gift donation.

Already confirmed for the day are two popular bands and well over 80 stalls and food vendors.

Other entertainment will also be provided to please the crowds, young and old.

Although this day focuses on the motorcycling community, the public is encouraged to attend and to bring along their entire family.

There will be secure parking for cars and bikes.

The ever popular road mass rides are all leaving at 9am, from:

· Blockhouse Engen 1-Stop – on the R59, between Randvaal Road and Heidelberg Road – north bound — 64 kms.

· Irene Village Mall – on the R21 — 40 kms.

· Meadowdale Mall – Edenvale Road, between R24 and N12 — 24 kms.

· SilverStar Casino – R28 Paardekraal Road, near Pinehaven intersection — 96 kms. (SilverStar is a long ride, so make sure the tank is full and the bike is up to it).

The rides will be speed-controlled at 80km/h, escorted by the Metro Police and controlled at intersections.

All bikes must be street legal and capable of completing the distances.
