Sporting beat Residentials 3-0 in the final

Astroplex U21 Challenge winners Sporting Lyon FC.

Sporting Lyon FC won the Astroplex U21 six-a-aside challenge held at Astroplex Sports Complex at Benoni Lake on July 2.

The team beat Residentials 3-0 in the final to walk away with the tournament trophy and R3 000 prize money. Residentials received runners-up medals and R1 800 for their effort.

Hakeem Marks from Sporting walked away with the player of the tournament award while Residentials goalie, Valjean Malan bagged the goalkeeper of the tournament.

“The event was well attended and spectators were treated to high-quality football and a fun-filled atmosphere,” said Astroplex chairperson Abdul Rehman Sibda.
