Help youngster go to Sweden

The Gothia Youth World Cup will take place from July 11 to 24

Unity Secondary School learner, Siyanda Dlepu, is appealing for donations following his selection to play at the Gothia Youth World Cup in Sweden from July 11 to 24.

The 17-year-old was selected by SA School of Soccer and needs a suitcase, soccer bag, shin guards, vanity bag, soccer clothes including tracksuits and pocket money.

“My mother is a domestic worker and she is the only breadwinner in our family of six members.

“Due to financial constraints, she can’t afford to buy me all the required items,” said Siyanda.

Siyanda said he promise to raise the flag of Unity Secondary and South Africa high in Sweden during the Youth World Cup.
“I will share my skills and what I will learn with other soccer players in my community when I come back,” said the learner who is doing Grade 11.
