Ride for Sight decision pending

Organisers had hoped to stage this year's edition in April, rather than the usual third Sunday of February

It is uncertain that the 33rd edition of the Dis-Chem Ride for Sight, which would be again staged at the Boksburg City Stadium, will take place due to the rising numbers of Covid-19 infections.

According to race secretary Claudette Medefindt, race organisers had hoped to stage this year’s edition in April, rather than the usual date which is normally the third Sunday of February.

With the strict restrictions placed on a number of participants according to Covid-19 protocols, organisers are in the process in finding a way forward concerning this year’s event.

Medefindt added that organisers will need to make a decision by the end of this month.
Dusty Day won last year’s edition in a time of 2:34:14.

Day’s brother, Tyler, won the event in 2015, making the pair the only brothers to have both won this event.
