High grading honour achieved
They were awarded what is known as their juvenile blue belts.
The East Rand Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy (ERBJJ) recently had a very special grading.
Coach Brandon Newman was given the task of grading four teenage boys who have progressed at a phenomenal rate.

“They are extremely athletic and have showcased some of the best technique in the academy,” said Anine Lombard, competitor and social media handler.
The following boys were awarded their juvenile blue belts:
• Joshua Belcher (17)
• Aaron Myer (15)
• Kelvin Berriman (16)
• Yusef Hansrod (16)

“This grading is a huge honour as it is usually reserved for athletes over the age of 18,” said Lombard.
