Netball women in urgent need of sponsors

Both women need to raise R5 600 each in order to attend the championships and this amount will cover kits, accommodation, travel as well as food and drinks.

Former Liverpool Secondary School learner Tshepiso Khosi (27) and current St Francis learner Simamkele Angelo Noludwe (16) are in desperate need of sponsors for their upcoming netball championship.

They have both been selected to represent their district (Ekurhuleni).

“I’ve been playing netball for about six years now,” explained Noludwe.

“I’ve always had a love for sports and in the midst of each sport that I do, netball happens to be part of it.

“I just love netball, the fun and the lessons of teamwork that come with it are just amazing.”

The SPAR NSA national championships will take place from December 6 to 12 at Bela-Bela in Limpopo.

Both girls need to raise R5 600 each in order to attend the championships and this amount will cover kits, accommodation, travel as well as food and drinks.

“Ekurhuleni Netball Association (ENA) holds trials every year.

“So I went and registered to be part of it.

“A few people were later called and told they were selected.

“Fortunately, I was amongst the selected ones,” explained Khosi.

“I am looking for a sponsor. I also had to do my part by going door to door, asking family and friends to help.

“I am happy to say it’s paying off slowly because I managed to pay the deposit, but I am still in need of help to reach my goal.”

“I require sponsors and the little help that I can get. I haven’t only been depending on sponsors, but they play a huge role.

“I’ve been trying other means to raise these funds such as asking for donations and family contributions,” said Noludwe.

Both women love to play netball, and being able to attend this championship will be a dream come true for both of them.

“My passion for netball started when I was in primary school at Pioneer Primary School in Actonville where I learnt the game.

“I guess it’s been with me for almost 18 years.

“I play netball because it’s deeply rooted in me.

“Netball is my lover,” explained Khosi.

Without their family and friends, both girls don’t feel they would be where they are today.

“My support system has to be my mother, Patricia Mmakoloi Khosi, my soul mate, Alinah Seage, and my netball babies; I coach children here in my community.

“Their support is actually what makes me strive for the best. They believe in me, sometimes more than I believe in myself. Their support means the world to me, it’s actually a reminder that one should never give up,” explained Khosi.

“My support system is my netball team, my friends, my teachers and my family as well as anyone who has made a contribution and anyone who is still helping me as they’ll be supporting me in living out this opportunity that has been granted to me. Everyone’s support means a lot to me and I couldn’t be more grateful,” said Noludwe.

Deadline for all payments is November 30.

“I’m aware that the deadline is very close and I apologise.

“I would appreciate all the support that will be given to us, and I know that it’s the little things that make a difference so if anyone could reach out and give as little as they can, it would be appreciated.

“I understand it’s difficult times as a pandemic has struck, but such opportunities as this one come once in a life time.

“Please help me live out this dream, please help us make you proud,” concluded Noludwe.
