This world cup saw many exciting accomplishments being made, and just to name a few:
Wesley Madhevere’s (Zimbabwe) recorded eight scalps this world cup and as a result became the all-time leading wicket-taker in all his matches (28).
He surpassed the 27 set by Moises Henriques (Australia) and Greg Thompson (Ireland).
Yashasvi Jaiswal was responsible for 38 per cent of India’s total runs (400/1040), the highest share by any batsman for a side.
Afghanistan’s Shafiqullah Ghafari picked up more player-of-the-match awards (three) than anyone else at the tournament.
He was the only bowler to pick up a five-wicket haul on two occasions, versus South Africa (6/15) and United Arab Emirates (5/23).
There are many more awards and accomplishments that were acknowledged after the tournament had run its course.
