The Benoni Lake Club is hosting their annual Lake Festival of Golf today at the Benoni Lake Golf Club.
The event runs for the weekend, starting today, February 21, until Saturday, and is expected to bring together golfers, members and different sponsors to compete and to increase the number of participants at the club.
The bowls, plus much more, will be held on Sunday.
There will be different competitions and matches such as short gun and four ball alliance, after which a prize giving ceremony will follow.

Sponsoring organisation include include Halewood International, Benoni City VW, which is the main sponsor of the club, Bamboo Thai spa, Eastern’s Cricket, Eastern’s Nomad, Lake Club, Buddy Braai and Glen Bryn.
“We are trying to get a lot of people involved in this sponsored event. Most of our members and sponsors will be attending,” said Candice Rowles, the ladies club captain.
She said Saturday was dedicated to members.
“Tomorrow morning (Saturday) is the member’s day, which forms part of the festival. We will also have the Captain vs the Chairman (Jacks & and Jill) match which is a separate trophy. We have ladies joining the play as well in their own competition,” she added.
