Last opportunity to qualify for the Comrades

This event is the last opportunity for athletes to qualify for the 2020 Comrades Marathon.

Entries are open for one of Gauteng’s most popular marathons and road races, the 2020 MiWay Wally Hayward Marathon.

This event is the last opportunity for athletes to qualify for the 2020 Comrades Marathon.

The marathon, sponsored by MiWay Insurance for the fifth consecutive year, gets underway at the Centurion Rugby Club on May 1, offering a total of up to R110 000 in prize money.

The event has become one of the largest road races in the country, with entries capped at 13 000 for all distances.

The marathon is hosted by Alpha Centurion runners and walkers and honours the legendary South African endurance athlete Wallace (Wally) Henry Hayward.

Thanks to its popularity and sterling organisation, the MiWay Wally Hayward Marathon has also been selected to host the Athletics Gauteng North (AGN) Marathon Championships this year, the first time in many years that AGN will have an official marathon championship.
