Night race is glowing brighter

The festive annual night race, which is traditionally awash with colour and costumes, not only drew runners from across the Ekurhuleni region, but also further afield. It started and finished in cool, breezy, evening conditions at the Benoni Northerns Club in Northmead.

The annual Rowlin Glow Race, hosted by Benoni Northerns Athletics Club (BNAC) on October 30, is growing in popularity and attracted a record entry this year, as runners engaged the route through the streets of the city.

BNAC chairman John Ansell confirmed to the City Times that it had attracted a record entry of 2543 runners across the three races – a 15km, 10km and 5km fun run.

A total of 510 runners crossed the finish line in the 10km race, 215 in the 15km, while the family-orientated fun run drew a sizeable entry of 1818 runners.
