Team C16 hosts a gala dinner for its members

The team grew from 68 runners in 2016 to 180 runners in 2019 and has a national footprint in Gauteng, Limpopo, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

Team C16 members left their running gear at home and donned their best outfits for the club’s annual Comrades Dance at the Lakes Hotel in Benoni recently.

The dazzling dinner was held to acknowledge team excellence during the Comrades Marathon.

Team C16 is a training team founded by coach Benzi Tenza, who has completed 15 Comrades Marathons.

The team consists of members from various running clubs and those who do not belong to running clubs.

Team C16 also has a regional and international presence in countries such as Kenya, Zambia, Brazil and India, among others.

“Running is one of the most beneficial physical activities you could undertake. Besides making us healthier, running is a great social activity that can help you build a stronger and more meaningful network of friends,” said Tenza.
