Rynfield dancer captures the world

Her résumé also includes the Dancer of the Year Senior Trophy in 2018 at school and back-to-back full colours in her chosen sporting craft.

Rynfield resident Madison Dallas has the dancing world at her feet.

Madison (11) has just returned from England where she represented South Africa at the World Lyrical Dance Federation competition held in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The Grade Five St Dunstan’s College learner captured the u-12 Level Two world title for lyrical and jazz in the quaint West Midlands town known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

In her lyrical solo, she managed to achieve honours from all the judges and was promoted to the advanced level.

Lyrical dance has been defined as a dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics and modern dance, while still maintaining its autonomy.

She is no stranger to world championship glory or the pressure associated with competing at the highest level, having placed first in the u-10 age group in the same category two years ago.

Her versatility in dance is astounding and she has piled up accolades in lyrical, modern and contemporary, jazz, ballet, freestyle and show dance.

Last month Madison also competed in the Commonwealth Dance Championship at Sun City and placed in the top four in each of her four solo items and was part of an award-winning production piece.

Her international travels also took her to the Dance Star Competition in Croatia last year, where she topped the podium for her modern solo and was the runner-up in the jazz section at the Dance World Cup in Germany in 2017.
