Super League Top Eight competition kicks off preseason football

It’s time for preseason football.

The Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) preseason Super League Top Eight competition kicks off this weekend with both Benoni Northerns and Old Bens football clubs in action on February 2.

The ELFA Top Eight competition is just that – the teams that placed in the top eight positions of their respective leagues in 2018 are pitted against each other in two pools (A and B), with the winners of each pool battling it out in a final of this 2019 football season curtain-raising tournament.

Northerns, in Pool A, will play Sporting Football Club at Northern Areas while Old Bens, in Pool B, will play Kempton Park at Currin Park.

Both matches kick off at 3.30pm.

Old Bens won the preseason tournament last year with a victory over Luso Africa in the final.
