Actonville enjoy easy win in the Eastern Premier League

A convincing display from the Actonville lads.

Actonville Spurs Cricket Club’s (ASCC) Premier League XI enjoyed a second win of the Eastern Cricket Union’s 2018/2019 league season when they bulldozed Boksburg Cricket Club away from home on November 4.

ASCC skipper Imraan Mannack won the toss and elected to bowl first at Prince George Park.

It was a good move as his bowlers ripped through the Boksburg batting order with little fuss.

Opening bowler Shakeel Ahmed Hussain achieved superb figures of 3/22 in 10 overs while Mekyle Pillay enjoyed a brilliant day with a five-wicket haul, bagging figures of 5/47 in nine overs as Boksburg crumbled to 87 all out in 27.5 overs.

With the bat, and despite losing the wickets of Saahil Khan, Ahmed Mohammed Jogee and Pillay for 21 runs, the Spurs skipper carried his team over the line in the 20.1 overs with an unbeaten score of 42 runs from 55 balls to secure a seven-wicket, bonus-point win for the men from Actonville.

They will host CBC Old Boys at Lords Cricket Grounds in their next Premier League encounter on November 11.

The first delivery is scheduled for 10am.
