Try your hand at bowls for a visionary cause this Sunday

Help our bowlers get to national tourneys.

A fun day in aid of the Ekurhuleni Visually Impaired Bowlers Association will take place on October 14 at the Atlas Bowling Club.

Funds are being raised to send players to national tournaments.

The Benoni Lakes Lions Club will assist on the day and, according to Beaulieu Maré, spokesperson of the club, will uphold the Lions International commitment made in 1925 to be ‘Knights of the Blind’.

“The day promises to be great fun for all who take part and we would love for you to be there,” she said.

“Experienced bowlers and novices, able-bodied and disabled, corporates and friends are all welcome to come along and enjoy the day.”

Mixed gender teams (of five players) will play five games of six ends (one player sits out per game with players rotating positions each game).

There will be two bowls per person.

Email entry information to nabbekurhuleni@gmail.com or contact May on 084 510 2944 or Gale on 082 962 8141.
