Benoni Northerns Premier XI defeated by rivals in T20 final

The team played well up until the final.

Benoni Northerns Cricket Club’s (BNCC) Premier League XI were defeated in the final of the Eastern Premier T20 Competition on September 30 by eight wickets against arch-rivals Kempton Park Cricket Club at Willowmoore Park’s main oval.

The team, after topping Pool B, with pool stage wins over Actonville Spurs, Duduza and Boksburg the weekend before, earned a semi-final against Boksburg on Sunday, who they went on to beat by 49 runs.

The 50-over format 2018/2019 Eastern Premier League gets underway this weekend. BNCC will play Tembisa at Willowmoore Park’s B-field while local club Actonville Spurs will play Alberton at Lords Cricket Grounds on October 7.

The first deliveries will be bowled at 10am.
