Young paddlers put in the hard graft

Young paddlers make a splash.

Paddlers in Gauteng are getting organised and fit for the serious part of the canoeing race year.

Watuni Canoe Club based in Vanderbijlpark, at the North West University campus hosted the 20km river race, which took place on August 18 in dark gloomy overcast cloudy and cold weather.

Kyle Laxton and JJ Engelbrecht, members of the  based at Homestead Dam, handled the river race and white water rapids like champs, finishing the 20km race in a time of 1 hour and 59 minutes, in the u-16 age category.
