Rugby action for Northerns men and women’s sides
The men and women battled it out at the Zando Tshwane 10s.
Benoni Northerns Rugby Club had two teams (a women’s sevens side and a men’s 10s side) playing at the Zando Tshwane 10s at Harlequins in Pretoria over the weekend.
The men’s team played six matches in the 10s Premier League which featured tough teams like the Naka Bulle and Pumas.
They, unfortunately, lost all of them.
The women’s side played five sevens matches over the weekend and won their final clash 14-0, a great performance considering many of them are new to the game.
The women’s side will again be in action this weekend (this time playing 10s) at the Albertina Sisulu Centenary 10s Tournament at Hoërskool Transvalia while the men’s side will play at a sevens tournament in Middelburg the following weekend.
