LISTEN/READ: The Beer Mile Challenge is back and is set to be ‘lager’ than ever

Hops to it, the Beer Mile Challenge is back.

The Beer Mile Challenge is back for its 2018 edition on September 15 at Benoni Northerns Sports Club from noon until 5pm.

Last year the inaugural event, which serves as a fund-raiser for Benoni Northerns’ hockey section, was a massive success and the organisers are hoping to make this year’s Beer Mile Challenge better than ever.

What is a Beer Mile?

Beer Milers drink a beer, run 400m, drink a beer, run 400m, drink a beer, run 400m, drink a beer, run 400m – i.e. four beers in a mile.

There will be individual heats and team relay heats (teams will consist of four people and will work like a normal relay, the mile will be completed between the four teammates).

There will also be a Kiddies Quarter mile for the young ones which will span over a quarter mile where a cup of Coke or water will be consumed every 100m.
