Benonian Jim McFarlane finished second at the first round of the Supadrift National Series, which kicked off on May 12 at Carnival City.

The reigning champion bounced back from what could have been a disaster after fitting a new engine the night before the competition.

He was struggling with his Achilles Tyres 350Z, but he kept on fighting.

He would meet Jason Webb in the final.

McFarlane did enough for second place as Webb secured the win and staked his claim for the 2018 Supadrift Championship.
