Old Bens lead Top Eight pool
Benoni sides picked up pre-season wins over the weekend.
Old Bens and Benoni Northerns football clubs’ senior Super League and Super League Reserve sides were all victorious in their respective Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) pre-season Top Eight competition matches on February 10.
Both teams are in pool B of the competition.
Northerns hosted Kempton Park Football Club at Northern Areas.
The reserve side won 3-1 while the first side stormed to a 4-0 victory.
Old Bens’ reserve side ran riot with a 5-2 win away over Alberton, while the Bens first XI (who defeated Northerns 2-1 in last weekend’s derby) went to the top of pool B with another 2-1 win in difficult conditions.
Benoni Northerns will host Alberton on Saturday while Old Bens will host Kempton at Currin Park.
Reserve team matches kick off at 1.45pm and first side matches kick off at 3.30pm.
