Actonville too good against Tembisa

Actonville Spurs have found some good momentum in the Eastern Premier League.

Actonville Spurs Cricket Club’s (ASCC) Premier League XI made it two wins in as many weeks when they trounced Tembisa Cricket Club by 111 runs at Lords Cricket Grounds in Actonville on February 4.

After losing the toss and getting put into bat first the Actonville willow-wielders made sure to set a good target, posting 240/8 in their 50-over innings.

Opening pair Yusuf Bulbulia and Ahmed Sayed Saloojee enjoyed a first-wicket stand of 55 runs before the former was dismissed for 18.

Saloojee (who scored 38 runs from 58 deliveries in his innings) was joined by skipper for the day Imran Manack who enjoyed a superb innings with the bat, scoring 84 runs from 109 balls (seven fours and a six).

CJ van der Walt (23 runs) and Clayton August (33 not out) also contributed to the good first innings total.

With the ball, Actonville proved too strong for the Tembisa batsmen.
