Benoni football derbies to kick off Top Eight competition

Old Bens Football Club will host bitter rivals Benoni Northerns Football Club at Currin Park in a reserve team derby at 1.45pm, followed by a first team derby between the two clubs at 3.30pm.

The Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) pre-season Super League and Super Reserve League Top Eight competition kicks off this weekend, with two mouth-watering Benoni derbies set to delight local fans on February 3.

The ELFA Top Eight competition is just that – the teams that placed in the top eight positions of their respective leagues in 2017 are pitted against each other in two pools (A and B), with the winners of each pool battling it out in a final.

Spectators are encouraged to show their support on Saturday.
