BNFC women aiming high in the league

Benoni Northerns Football Club’s (BNFC) Women’s A side are sitting in second place (on goal difference) in the Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) Women’s Division Two League.

“It has been an unbelievable start to the season for the women’s side, with only five players in the squad who have played league football before,” said coach Neil Senneck.

“The season has so far been a fantastic one for the new young players, who are all learning more about the game every time they play.”

With a perfect eight wins from eight games played so far, it is only goal difference that is keeping them in second place on the log.

They also have the best defensive record in the league so far, conceding only five goals in those eight games.

Caeleigh Mackintosh is the team’s top scorer with 16 goals to her name already.

“These young players have gelled into an excellent unit and have learnt a lot in the past three months,” Senneck said.

They will have their toughest test on Friday (November 24) with a top-of-the-table clash away at Alberton.
